Mission Statement
Mission
Administration and Management of the petroleum & Industrial ports of AbuDhabi to ensure
safe; efficient, competent and economical operations of the ports.
Ensure the protection of the waters within the ports limits against any risk including the
risk of accidents or pollution.
Function
- Supervise, monitor and issue necessary instructions to ensure the implementation of laws of
the petroleum ports and its amendments.
- Ensure that applicable international legislations and codes of practice including ISPS code,
regarding operation of ships are enforced. Ensure that terminal requirements ( OPCO's ) are
implemented by client ships.
- Command any marine crisis within the port limits including oil pollution combating.
- Control water ways and channels leading to the petroleum ports. Control and regulate traffic,
berthing and anchoring of vessels in the petroleum ports.
- Carry out the necessary studies, master planning, hydrographic surveys, environmental base
line, collection and archiving of data base, chart updating, dredging, updating of tide and
current tables and issuance of notices to mariners to ensure that port facilities are adequate
to handle the projected cargo export and ships traffic to the terminals of ADNOC group companies.
Review, comment and approve the detailed plans of port users for expansion projects of terminals
and facilities.
- Review training and carry out testing and certification of marine personnel including pilots
and tug masters employed in the ports.
- Initiate risk assessments covering the ports limits to ensure that adequate precautions are
developed to avoid a realistic level of threat.
- Conduct inspections, assessment and vetting of all client vessels calling at Abu Dhabi petroleum
Ports.
- Chair the Port Users Advisory Committee. Coordinate with HSE Division and ADNOC concerned
Divisions to improve the port services in the best interest of SPC and ADNOC Group.
- Develop realistic training plans for Emiratisation.
